Is there a good reason why the "hide" function does not hide anything?

What page number are you trying to hide? If you are trying to hide page #1 of a device you need to make sure that the shortcut button for that device on the main page is not set to jump to page #1. If that is the case then you'll jump to the hidden page.

Hope that helps.

Sean.

What I should have said is, how come it does not work like the MX850? I can't hide individual pages of a device?

To hide any page, right click on it in the tree view on the left side of the screen, then select "Hide." That's it. You can hide any page you want to. On the MX-850 you can only hide the last non-hidden page.

Works fine on mine. It will renumber the pages on the remote, so a page following the one you hid will be labeled one less (ie: Page 6 becomes Page 5 on the remote if Page 5 is hidden).

it doesn't do that on mine.
it "grays" out the page & the page is still accessible after d/l to the remote

what version are you running?

The only thing you can hide is a complete page.

What Mike was saying above is that if you have a device with 3 pages (Page1, Page2, Page3) and you hide page 2, when you download to the remote Page1 is Page1, Page2 on the remote is Page 3 in the editor.

This is working as designed, please be more specific about what you are trying to do and maybe we can help you.

when I say "hide a complete page", I'm not referring to the sub pages within a device, I'm talking about main pages as you would see them on the lcd display, when you "hit" the Listen or Watch buttons

I just created Page1,2,3 under watch and put cable on page2 and dvd on page3. I hid page2 and on the remote page 1 is normal, page 2 has dvd on it which is page 3 in the editor because 2 is hidden. This is working as normal for me.

Are you saying when you hide page2 by right clicking it and selecting hide it is greyed out in the editor but it isn't skipped when you download it to the remote? If this is the case, email it to me and I'll try it.

ok eric looks like the problem is solved. (thanks for the offer)
files programmed off the laptop are good. I uninstalled & re-installed the mx900 software on my desktop, that "cured" the problem.
