The backlight in my MX3000 is set to turn off in 30 seconds, but the unit was not turning off. It remained on indefinitely.
I was able to remedy the problem by disconnecting the battery, waiting a few minutes, then re-connecting the battery. It was then necessary to re-set the clock, and the 'turn off' feature functioned properly. HOWEVER, after I loaded a new rcc file, the unit once again would not shut off - until I used the battery 'trick' again.
Has anyone else had this problem?

I had this before when my remote was locked up. The cure was either what you did or pushing the reset button which is also inside the battery compartment. So far, it has not done this with the latest software update. Although it still does the "pulse on" and off when it wakes up. SJ

I have the same on a MX-950. It occurse when i download a new file to the remote an the remote reeboots with usb cabel connected. Only direct disconnecting the usb cabel after downloading the file before the remote starts to boot solves the problem.
