I'm still awaiting the battery for my new MX3000 (it wasn't in the box!!), so my problem is based entirely on my running the emulator. Maybe the problem won't occur when I run my program on the MX3000, but I suspect that it will.

The problem is that since downloading the update two of my GIFs don't operate properly. Parts of them don't appear on the screen for the proper length of time - they're shortened in duration. Anyone else have a similar problem?

I agree!
I work all hours of the night but that is because I work nights. Eric you are going to make URC great all on your own. Or at least it almost seems that way.

It's great when you love your work!

This is a bit OT, but during my Fed career, I once worked for a super gung ho political appointee. He was brilliant, but a lousy manager. That aside, he routinely worked an 18-19 hour day, and had two shifts of secretaries -- 8 to 4:30, and 4:30 to midnight. He also worked holidays, and one Thanksgiving, called me at home twice with questions during Thanksgiving dinner!

We senior career types finally worked a deal with him that we would work only 50 hours a week (with no extra pay, of course). He stuck to it with only a few "emergency" exceptions.

Darnitol. hope I haven't given Eric J. any ideas.....

If someone is doing updates I would love for the open image dialog to be fixed. When you go to open an image (e.g. click a button, then click Import Image) you are presented with a open file dialog with a preview, only someone forgot to add the little bit of code that moves the preview when you resize the dialog. The Preview checkbox even moves, but not the image itself, it slides behind the file listbox so you cannot see the preview if you don't stick to the original dialog width.
All the Best,

A quick followup.....

I loaded the rcc from a backup disc into my laptop (which has the 'old' software) and the GIFs ran perfectly. Loaded the rcc into my desktop and the GIFs malfunctioned as mentioned in my first post. As a final test I just loaded the rcc into a third computer (which had the old software) and it worked perfectly. Then updated the third computer with the new software, re-loaded the rcc, and BINGO, the GIFs malfunctioned. Don't know what the problem is, but I'm certainly not going to update my laptop's software until a fix is found.......

I just find, in my own testing that the default setting for "Animate Default" now only cycles the gif animation once, instead of infinatley. I just set the .gif animation to "Animate Always" and it works, but it is a pain, as I always forget to do this, and inevitably while testing my remote go "Why the crap isn't this animation running anymore!?!...Oh, right. I forgot."

I had already tried that and it didn't solve the problem. Very, very curious......

Concetta,

Our engineers have identified the issue. Although this version of the software has some real advantages displaying animated gifs, it also changes the way some gif files are played back. Dale can fill you in on a temporary workaround to get your gif back in sync if you have the right animation software...

In the meantime, the engineers are working on this, however, it doesn't look like a quick fix this week as I hoped. I'll keep you posted.

Best Regards,

-Eric

Good too hear that you've identified the issue.

Since I do not have animation software (I downloaded the gif from the net), I'll wait for the fix. Appreciate that you're 'on the case!'
