Just a mash note re. the MX-850.

I have had SL-8000, SL-9000(2), MX-500 (2), Mx-700/200 and now the MX-850/MRF-250 combo. IMHO, the 850 is clearly the best of any I have had. If you are thinking of an upgrade -- do it -- you won't be unhappy I'll bet.

Mine's still the choice in our family room (although the MX-900's getting serious consideration because of the dedicated Chapter skip buttons).

I must agree. I have two 850s and one 950, and I still find the 850s a joy to use, even if I have to put the chapter skip command onto a button that does not say chapter skip right on it. (It still skips the chapter and I can't read what's on that little button anyway, especially in the dark.)

Highly recommended.

Why not put chapter + and chapter - on the CH+ and CH- who says CH is only for channel? I use it for chapter since DVD players don't have a tuner

Yes, the 850 is a great remote, and I will get many years out of mine. (My 900 is finding a home on my coffee table too now.)

Works great for DVD players, but not so good for PVRs. ;-)

i like the 850 alot... i find that it fits more comfortably in most peoples hands then the 950...although i decide which remote to use depending on the setup of my customers.. if they have any TOAD epuipment then i will not use an 850 cuz of the lack of variables...then i ususally go for 950 and 3000
