Is it possible to have activity based macros on the 850 similar to those offered by Harmony? By that I mean can a macro be set up to turn on only the components to be used by that activity, then when you press another activity, those components are turned on and those not used are turned off. Hope this makes sense.

Yes, as long as you have discrete on/off codes for your equipment. The 850 doesn't support variables so the remote can't "GUESS" weather a component is on or off like the harmony.

We only sell equipment with discretes, so this is how we program our 850s, only the equipment that is needed is powered on.

the only option for the 850 with TOAD epuipment is a system on system off button then source switching
