My gleaning of many threads over the months seem to lean towards more RF issues with MX950s and MX3000s. The guys that were able to sell 3000s in particular went from great on IR to mediocre or worse on some RF installs. Some of them went to the RTIs as a result.

The MX950s seemed to be a little like that. We who sold more MX850s than anything else have few or no RF issues.

The above comments were not science but only my impressions.

Now the MX900 has arrived and it is slimmer than the 850 and has a nice feel. It certainly is of the "new generation", using USB for programming, watch and listen, and so on.

What do you think it will be like in those "more difficult" RF installs? Time will tell, I guess. I'm hoping it does as well as the 850 does.

I would think the MX-900 will be along the same lines as the MX-950's performance. Just be sure to use an MRF-300. It should give you far better RF performance than a 250 is capable of.

The 900 and TX1000 have slightly different RF than previous remotes. I can get better than 210 feet from my TX1000 outdoors. My experience has been great with the 900 and TX1000 so far, great RF and everyone loves them.

Is that with a 250 or 300?
I've had terrible luck with the 300's. The 250's have been more reliable for me.

I've used the TX-1000 and MX-900 (that have new RF transmitters) with both the MRF-250 and 300. Didn't notice any difference in usable distance between the two. I wasn't able to get any further away from the MRFs with the TX-1000 than with a 950 or 850 (about 80'), but I was also going through two walls.
