I have a ceiling mounted Sanyo Z4 projector that the IR sensor eye is on the front of the projector and all the other AV componets are at the rear. I currently have a Harmony 880 remote (temporarily). When I am using using this remote at the rear of the room near the AV components the projector will not turn on with the activity command, it is out of "sight."

I was wondering if I bought the MX-850 with a URC-300 Customizer would this allow the projector to turn on if I am behind it? Do not want to make another bad purchase!

Thanks for the insight!

Did you mean MRF-300?? if so Yes, you would need wire to the projector to wire an emitter for the projector that would need to go back to the area where the MRF300 would be
There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

Sorry about that, I did mean MRF-300.

So, I would have to run a hard wire with an emitter from the pj back to the area of the MRF-300. Where does the non emitter end of the wire connect?

Where would be a good source (online) to buy emitters?

Well if that has to be, can I do the same thing but keep the Harmony 880?

The MRF-300 comes with 6 emitters, each 10' long. They plug into the MRF-300. If you need longer than 10', you can buy an 1/8" audio extension cable. Even a stereo extension cable (like from Radio Shack) will work.

You can't use the Harmony with the MRF-300, but you could use an IR repeater like a Hot Link Pro with it. Also, you should be able to control your projector by bouncing the IR off the screen.
