When watching TV or using the Receiver I have use of the volume controls on the MX-700, but when watching TV through the Tivo or watching a DVD the volume control on the remote does not work. I can obviously switch to the Receiver temporarily adjust the volume and than change back to the Tivo or DVD but that is not ideal. In the meantime I created volume buttons on the first page of the Tivo and DVD menus and used the learning function so that I can now use the soft buttons to control the receiver volume. Is that the only way to control volume for main menu items like Tivo and DVD that have to rely on the receiver for their volume?

Open up the editor, then click program>#6 Punch Through.

Under Punch To:
Hold the CTRL key and select all the devices where you want to use the receiver volume control.

Then under Punch From: Volume, Mute select your receiver device.
Click save and download to the remote.

Now every device you selected will use the receiver volume.
