I have been trying for over an hour to program a Macro on my new URC-200 onto the power on button, where it powers on the TV, makes sure the TV input is right, and fires up the TiVo now playing list.
After a while I finally realized that it wasn't executing the macro when pressing the button, it is just powering on the TV. I had punched through the TV power to the TiVo device.
I have tried erasing all the macros on the key and all learned functions on the key, but I cannot get the macro to stick on the power key. Is it possible to assign a macro to the power button if there already is a function assigned to it?
Also, can you cancel a punch-through once it is assigned?

A punch through can be cancelled on a specific device by punching through both TO and FROM that device. IOW, for the Tivo device, punch TIVO both from and to the Tivo device. I don't believe the 200 allows for both a single command and a macro on the same button like the PC programmable remotes do. Are you trying to program the macro to the Power On button in the Tivo device, or on MAIN. The programming steps are different if you're on MAIN. Mike www.SurfRemoteControl.com

I am trying to program the macro onto the TiVo device power button. I can't seem to get it to NOT execute the function that is already on the button. Is it possible to have a macro on the button?
I haven't done too much programming yet, so I am thinking about resetting the remote and starting fresh so there will be nothing on the button.

Just to clarify, you can have a macro on the Tivo device power button. You just can't have both a single command AND a macro.

I do believe you can have 2 functions on the same button as long as you program in a delay. For example, have CABLE switch to the cable box to contro it, or create a macro that you hold the CABLE button for one second and turn on all the devices needed to watch digital cable. I do not know about the power button, sorry.
