Try using the other ports in the MX editor.

Yep first things first...make sure your com port in mx-editor jives with the com port your adaptor is assigned to in your device manager.

The Belkin USB-Serial is probabmatic (I know, I own one), by all accounts the Keyspan product is better. However, because I program remotes for a living I bought a serial PCMCIA card to replace the USB-Serial thingy. It's the only way to go, I have noticed that the downloads are quicker and have not experienced a problem (after I got it to work, a defective PCMCIA card cable, but that's another issue). The serial card interface is a pleasure to use.

The other thing you may want to check is that URC released a new version of MX-850 editor which may help.

Cheers
