moo,
I have my ipod hooked up to my system and control it with the Mx-3000. The controls are limited to back, forward, stop, and a macro for power on and off.
I am using a dock made by kensington that came with a remote. I simply learned the commands from that remote to my IPod,
Hope that helps.

Yeah, there are a couple of remotes for the iPod...just make sure you get one that is IR, then you can learn the commands from it to your MX-3000. They've got pretty basic functionality, but it works well usually! Thank you, Damon DG = = = = = http://www.ProRemotes.com - Authorized Dealer & Remote Programming Service

Hi. Will the Universal Dock work with RF (specifically MRF 300); and is the limited functionality (play, pause, forward) a problem if the dock/ipod will be hidden behind a cabinet that is not that easy to access (e.g, if the ipod is in the dock, is it always on?). Thanks for any tips -- considering hooking ipod video into my receiver and controlling thru MX 3000/MRF 300.

Peter, As long as you set it up so the dock will receiver IR, it will work for you. You can attach a flasher from the MRF-300 to the dock and that will do it. Thank you, Damon DG = = = = = http://www.ProRemotes.com - Authorized Dealer & Remote Programming Service

Damon,
Thanks, as always, for your quick support.
I see that there are other remotes than the Apple remote -- anyone have any thoughts on other models, or whether its best to stick with Apple's (don't know if it makes much difference since i'd be learning to the MX 3000 anyway -- perhaps different functionality with other (non apple) ipod remotes?
Thanks!

Pete, Anytime! I'd stick with the Apple, unless you can find another IR remote with the same capabilities for less money. Thank you, Damon DG = = = = = http://www.ProRemotes.com - Authorized Dealer & Remote Programming Service

The codes that work with the Apple universal dock, are these Apple codes or third party? Can I download the codes into my MX-850/MX-3000 or do I need a third party remote to learn from?

Hi. Does anyone have a IPOD icon graphic that I could add to the main page of the MX 3000 or have any suggestion as to where I could get one? Thanks!
