I'm trying to envoke a work-around that was outlined on the descrete hunter. I'm trying to add discrete power on & off sequences to my mx850 for my Motorola cable box:

The post said to do the following:
On= menu, power, power
Off=menu, power

How do I do this? Is it supposed to be a macro? Learned commands?

I've tried different things ... I must be missing something.

Here is the post:

Any more than one command is by definition a macro. Pick a button you want to put the macro on and click on it - it should turn green. Go down to the Macro & Favorite window; hit the red record button, and go to the cable box and click the commands outlined above. Hit the little disc thingie in the macro window to save it. Download and test.

In practice, you may have to add delays of 0.2 or 0.5 sec between commands for them to fire. Macros are test and retest. Let us know how it goes!
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.
