every time i turn on my tv for the first time,my tv, receiver, comes on but if the receiver was on say dvd it will stay on dvd, so then i have to hit the tv button again and it will switch to the right place, but then the tv shuts off. once everything is on it all works good. its only the first time.does anybody have a problem with when you hit 1 button to changs modes,something els turns off ? is a power button reccomended to turn on everything at 1 time and shut it off at 1 time ?. thanks brian

See if you can find discreet IR commands for your equipment. It sounds like you are using an on/off command for the TV rather than a discreet ON command.
Also, some receivers will turn on when you send the command for an input. For instance, if your receiver was on DVD when you turned it off, pressing the TV IR command may turn on your receiver and switch it to TV.

Also, some receivers that don't turn on with an input command have to be on for a period of time before they will respond to an input change command. I have seen the need for a three second delay between receiver power on and input change.
