Hi all, two questions for those who know...I don't have a 950 yet, just playing around with the editor, trying to figure out whether I should get one...
1) Are nested macros possible with the MX-950? I know they are with the 3000, but not the 700, 850, etc...what about the 950?
2) Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to easily remap buttons in the 950 editor (not create macros, just simple remapping). For example, on my 700, if I want a button in my Tivo device to play a command from my Light device, I just select that button from the Tivo page on the general view in the editor, go to the "Edit & Label Buttons" window, select the Light device from the drop-down menu, then select the button from the Button drop down menu. That easy remapping functionality doesn't seem to exist in the MX-950 - instead, I have to select the button, go to the Macro tab, and pick the device and button from the IR Database Navigator... Is that correct? It seems a lot slower, because the IR Database Navigator gives me all of the possible brands, and all of the possible models to choose from...not just the brands and codesets that I'm already using, which is how it goes with my 700. Perhaps this approach is more flexible, but it seems a lot more complicated and time consuming than in the 700 Editor...
I've looked through the programming manual, and can't quite figure out either of these questions.
Thanks a lot! Neil

1) are you saying Alias a button containing a macro and fully execute the button? I don't see why not, but you can import macros as well
2) I think if you go to VIEW > PAGE VIEW MODE you can just drag and drop buttons from one device to another, I think this is the function that you are looking for.

Thanks KC... I'm not entirely sure we're talking about the same thing about nested macros. Basically, I mean to have a macro execute another macro as one of its steps (see this thread for another explanation: [Link: remotecentral.com] ) Yes, I know I can just import the macro, but in certain circumstances nesting is easier. Page View Mode works great as you described as long as the buttons I'm dealing with are on the LCD screen, and aren't hard buttons. Thanks again, -n

I haven't been able to create any nested macros either. Sounds like another feature to request. The ability to alias to the hard-labeled buttons would also be a welcome addition. Mike www.SurfRemoteControl.com

I guess we weren't really talking about the same thing. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Too bad about the nested macros. So what exactly is the best way to make a feature request? Just hope that Gregorius shows up in your thread? :)
Thanks Mike and KC!
