My MX-850 hardly lights up the center "SEL" button on the jog dial, so it looks almost totally black with the room lights off. Could somebody out there try theirs and let me know if this is normal, or do I have a bum unit? Thanks.

Your 850 is fine.
Thats just the way it is!
Ounce you get used to it, you won't need a light.
It would be nice, though.
