Any secrets on how to end up with a room in Indy
Thu-Sat? This is the first time we're 10 miles
from the airport and dome. bla.

Become a CEDIA member and book real early. ;-)

I've never stayed downtown (although I could have in past years) and this year they made it even tougher by blocking off a bunch of rooms for CEDIA members. I usually stay near the airport and rent a car or take the shuttle bus. It's an easy drive downtown (or maybe I'm just to used to SoCal traffic).

The show has outgrown Indy, so the move to Denver is intended to allow for more hotel rooms and showfloor space.

I love being in the attached hotels. It's really nice to go back to your room between classes, or just to take a quick break from the floor. We stayed at a little Holiday Inn or something right downtown on the other side of the dome one year. (Didn't book our rooms in time.) It turned out great, Cedia doesn't list them on their site and we just called and asked for rooms. Some hotels hold a group for Cedia so if you say you are going to Cedia then they will give you a room. Most of the hotels will NOT book all of their rooms to Cedia people because they know there will be other important people to come through on those days. Be one of those IMPORTANT people (and have the money to back it up) and you can still get a great room downtown! ;) Often people call and cancel as well. I would start calling around later this week and see what has opened up.

For those who will be attending, if you could do me a favor, I would appreciate it. I would guess that if you've replied to this thread in the URC section, you will at least be visiting their booth if not going to one of their training sessions. If you do, please ask them a specific question about the upcoming MX-900.

If I remember from the pictures I saw of it (which have now been removed from the site they were on), it didn't have a Fav button similar to the 950. Gregorious just confirmed that while the 950 was initially missing the "return to page" functionality found in the 3000, it would be added via a firmware update a few weeks after CEDIA. In fact, he said it will be the same as the 3000 so that all of the "Jump To" options are available on the 950.

Could someone please ask the URC reps if the same "Jump To" functions will be available on the 900 since it doesn't have a Fav button? I'd also love to know specifics like how many devices it will support, etc, but I assume that kind of basic info will be part of the officially released specs when it is annoounced at CEDIA. Thanks in advance.

I haven't decided about the "New Product Overview" but I will be attending both "Training & Certification" classes. It's always nice to see people from these forums to solidify the fact that they are real people, not psycos, and to put a face to an obscure forum title.

I will not be attending this year. If I get any out-of-office time, it will be for vacation purposes! haha :)

Thank you,

Well, I was planning on attending, but doubt that I will be able to make it now. Gas here in town shot up to $3+ a gallon, and then shortly after that, all gas stations in town put out NO GAS AVAILABLE signs. As much as I was looking forward to it, unless things change in the next week, I will not be making that trip. (450+ miles each way)
