Alright I'm trying to choose here... I do want the programming ability, the whole for buying this remote in the beginning was so all I'd have to do is hit "DVD" to have it turn the TV On and to the right input, turn the reciever to DVD, etc, etc.

Now here's what devices I have to control:

- Denon AVR-3805 Receiver
- Pionner DVD player (will be replaced by Denon AVR-2910 or 3910)
- Samsung 61" DLP (not yet purchased, but coming)
- SA 8000HD (or possible 8300HD) PVR box from the cable company
- X10 Lighting and other things (future proofing here)

There may be other devices down the line, but that's all for now!

Thoughts?

D,

The main issue here is a preference really. If you like the idea of seeing your remote's program and capabilities laid out on a computer monitor for easy access and manipulation, then the MX-850 is the remote for you. If you don't care much for the PC-programmable capabilities, then it's the MX-650.

Personally, I like PC-programmable remotes for their ability to update the IR database, as well as the abilty to import CCF files, without having to learn or send it to HTM for a flash memory upgrade.

Thank you,
Damon DG

Go for the 850 and then your needs will be met for years to come.

IMHO.
