Hey all,
I am in the process of programming my first Mx 3000. In the manual it says that the "main" button cannot be programmed. I was wondering if anyone has found a way around that. My client requires slideshow to be running on a display when it isn't being used for other activites. I was hoping to attach a macro to the "main" button to switch the display to the appropriate input on the TV. Secondly I was also hoping for some tips to improve the response time of learned IR commands as they seem to be quite a bit more sluggish than IR commands fround in the pre-programmed database.....thanks for any help you can provide.
P.S. what's the native graphics format that this remote uses? I tried utilizing a 106k animated GIF and the editor told me it was too large and that page size is limited to 3 megabytes(the GIF was the only thing on the page). Obviously it's getting converted to something very much larger than gif.
Again thanks for any information provided.

The MAIN button has a very specific and dedicated function, which is to control the navigation of pages/sections within the remote. If it was programmable, it's a safe bet that it would become a huge tech support issue when people simply lost their ability to navigate through various places on their remote. This is why it is not possible to program it.
As an alternative, create your macro button, then just copy and paste it to every page if you want that macro to be accessed from any place on the remote.
Thank you, Damon DG

basically I was hoping the user wouldn't have to enage the macro actively...that's why I was hoping I could attach it to the main page and the slideshow/behaviour would be automatically activated when the system was in a neutral state and not accessing any other functions/devices....In terms of huge tech support issues I would think mal-learned IR codes completely locking up the remote after a few button presses would be a pretty high on the list but apparently not, since it's there :-)....thank goodness for this forum becuz I was going absolutely nuts trying to figure out what was causing that. Thank you for your response though.
