Hello all. I'm new to this site & new to a MX-800 remote. Most of my system components are older than 8 yrs. & not listed. Any ideas on how a newbie can learn what's needed? Thanks for your help & look forward to learning all I can from you pros.

Well, besides learning the commands from your existing remotes, you could try some of the IR database codes for components by the same manufacturer as yours, choosing model numbers that are as close as possible. Also, look through the Philips Pronto files section of this website for your components. You can use the "Universal Browser" feature of MXEditor to open those files, then drag-abnd-drop commands from them.

They may just not show the exact model you have, although, I'm sure some of the generic codes in the database will work for you. Try the "generic" codes (for example: [Sony 1], [Sony 2], etc.).

If you get stuck or need additional help, feel free to contact me for programming.

Thank you,

Based on the equipment you listed, you should have no problem. The Mitsubishi TV codes will work and if the set isn't too old it may respond to discrete input commands. The only problem you may have is some of the Yamaha DVD player. For some reason I've had problems learning It's codes. I'll bet you can also find some older codes from the Pronto software data base.
