I have a page setup on my mx-3000 as the x-10 layout, ie- buttons that I push for house code A or B etc and then the individual numbers. Well I want to setup one touch macro keys to turn on say C+2+on but when I record these onto my macro button, it does not work? I have the IR-543 which does receive the commands from the remote if I push the individual keys.

All of my other macro's recorded this way work but not x-10.

Any help would be greatful!

Michael,

have you tried putting delays between each of the commands, ex
C+(.5s Delay)+2+(.5s Delay)+On ? Delay time of .5s is just a guess.

Hello Bracken,
Yes I did try delay's between macros and that did not work. But you got me thinking and so I removed the first step of the macro that called out the house code(I did this because the IR543 is already set for that code). Well now everything works just as wanted???

Thank you for your reply.

By the way, are you the one who has the beta mega DVD program in the works? I have not aksed for a copy because I was waiting for it on your web site but it's still not there. I know you get alot of emails for this program, assuming this is you!

Yep, thats me.

It will still be a while before it is available publically on the website, if you want to try the beta, I would be happy to send a copy your way.

The IR controller is set to one house code only. You can only send a unit and command, not a house code. I wondered myself why the house codes are listed on device X10 #3 on the editor. Anyone out there know what those are for? Does the MX-3000 also send X10 RF commands as well? If so, you don't need the IR controller.

My MX-800 is quite adept at X10 through an IR gateway, but I had to design my system around one house code (with ActiveHome macros to control other house codes.) I haven't tried much with the MX-3000 as I just got it. The MX-3000 certainly has a lousy default template for X10.

The IR-543 is only capable of one house code; the one the house code knob is hard set to. If you want to do additional house codes you need to buy the IR-543AH which can do all 16 house codes (all 256 house/unit codes). It is a special version that has been modified by Laser Business Systems in the UK and available by a few dealers here in the US. It costs about $100.
