I would like to request an XML file from anyone that has their collection in MusicCollector and is planning on using the CD side of DMX once it is available.
This would need valid Location and Slot information entered for each disc in the collection.

I dont use any CD's in my changers so I have just created testing files, but would like to test on as many collections as possible.

Anyone willing to, please email me your XML file.

Thanks,

I am getting a socket error on DVD profiler version 2.4 worked fine last time I used it on this PC but now I can't connect.

It is socket error #10061 connection refused

I have not changed or added anything. I used it about 2 months ago and it was fine.

Any idea whats wrong?
Is it a pay program now?
Do I have to upgrade to v2.5 now?

Ken

UPDATE... Confirmed servers down.

Sorry if this has been answered before, I didn't see it and don't feel like reading the whole thread again. If we register with the current version of the software, do we get the new version for free when it is released?

Any idea when the next update is going to be? Also have a small suggestion. Allow the user to set the amount of time a DVD shows up in the "New Purchases" listing. I think its 45 days right now, which is much longer than I would like.

I second the suggestion to make the "new purchases" a variable. I'd like it to be even longer than 45 days. ;-)

I'm curious when we'll see the next update too. Need any beta testers?

I am looking for way to get a more user friendly way to list all of my dvd's. I like the idea of the remote control containg all the information. I would like to persue this but there seems to be a real lack of information on installation, and setup.

I am not an installer but definately a home theater enthusiest, and computer tech. I am pretty sure I can make-do, but I would like to better understand how the remote know what slot discs are in.

I would also like to check out the code you have added as well.

How difficult is programming an MX-3000 remote?

In DVD-Profiler you set the Location and Slot information for all of your discs. The DMX-3000 program then reads this information and updates your .rcc file and then you simply download that file to your remote.

If you want I can send you my .rcc file with the DMX code added to it. I currently have 2 changers set up. You can also download the sample program which contains a readme file with instructions for setting it up.

I have entered in the first few discs and wanted to check for clarification before I get this setup, and purchase the remote.

In the DVD profiler a collection number, but I am thinking under the personalize, or after clicking add to collection uner the personalization tab you need to click the disc tab and also type in the disc. Is that correct.

Also It seems some discs that are a two or three disc sets the software will not let you add duplicate names\upc's is there a way around that?

If I have two 777es changers do I need the upgraded base, and use the RS232 ports to control each of them? I guess I don't see another way to get the remote to distinguish between the changers otherwise.

I did some checking on the web and found the remote for 560.00 (expensive but cheaper the many solutions).

In DVD Profiler you go to right click on the disc then select 'Personalize'. Click on the discs tab and enter the location and slot number. The location tells it which changer. In my case I use Sony1 and Sony2.

To control the two different changers, I have 2 devices setup in my .rcc file. I then use the mrf-350 to route the commands to the appropriate changer and jump to the correct controls for this device after the movie has loaded. This just allows me to control them separately with the MX3000.

For DMX-3000 you will then need to create two controls pages and name them whatever you have chosen in DVD-Profiler, for me Sony1 and Sony2. Then you simplay alias all the commands for the appropriate changer along with the correct Before and After commands to load the disc.

If that is not clear, sorry its kind of hard to explain. I'd be happy to send you my .rcc file if you wanted to check it out though.

dcatcha,

It is not necessary to buy the MRF-300 base station in order to control more than one Sony Changer, if you look on the back of your changers you will see a switch labeled "Control Set" (or something similar) and 3 possible settings. There are 3 seperate IR code sets for the changer so you can control up to 3 sony changers from the remote directly without the use of any IR routing.

If you already have the MX-Editor, you will be able to view the RCC sample file. However since the Editor is no longer available to the general public you are only able to access it after buying the remote. You can however download and test my software in demo mode prior to purchasing.

Please let me know if you have any more questions.

This is exactly the set up I have, I have two Sony changers (300 and 400) and I have one set to position 1 and one to position 3. Then I learned the functions from each set to the control page for the correct changer and all was set. I am thinking about adding a 3rd player if I catch one on an open box and I will still have one more controll set to use. Now I ever need the 4th that will be different :-)

the sony changer works great with using the different ir codes...3 in all any more changers then that would require mrf-350 with ir routing...works like a champ
