Bracken:

Does the program make a device file that's skinnable? I can see a need for this as more people start using your program. Also, does it support CDs as well as DVDs?

Thanks,
Dale Crawford

Dale,
Yes, you could replace the graphics, as I left them in an images folder in the application directory, if you replace those with files named the same (i.e. BackGround.jpg, etc) they will be used in place of originals.
(Should be noted, that the new files MUST match the originals dimensionally.)

Aside from the DVD Cover images, there are only three other images I used, so there wouldnt be much to customize. You could change the Background, and the alpha keyboard buttons, and thats about it. Samples of both current pages can be seen here. On the Alpha Page the greyed out buttons are because of the lack of movies that start with that letter.

So as you can see, there are two Alpha keys, large and small, and the background, which you cant see much of. If someone can suggest a better layout than what I have currently, I am open to any and all suggestions.

As for CD's, doesnt support them currently, but it is in the works. CD's cant be easily adapted to work with this setup as I would expect most would want text based and not graphical (Titles of ablums as opposed to cover art).

I have most of the graphics layed out for this, but not the programming. Working on the databse end of things currently. CD's will require much more user entered information than the DVD's unless someone can point out a good CD cataloging software.

After having played with this software over the weekend, I am now asking myself "How did I ever manage without it?".

Setup was painless, as I already had DVD Profiler up and running. In less than about ten minutes, my entire DVD catalog was available simply by pressing the cover picture on the remote.

I then purchased a few new movies this weekend, and the longest part of getting them into my remote was entering the UPC codes into DVD Profiler. DMX 3000 handled everything else with ease, and with no additional programming of the remote worth speaking of.

Despite a fair attempt, I couldn't find any flaws in DMX 3000, and yet it's only supposed to be a beta version!. (Take note major software companies).

Thanks Bracken, and I can't wait to see the final version.

Once again, anyone that has requested it, should have it now, if not let me know.
I had some trouble with my ISP, as I was sending this same attachment out numerous times, and they detected it as spam, and were blocking this attachment.
I explained what I was doing, and they supposedly fixed the problem, but I have no way of knowing.

Dadio- Thanks for the good news, glad its working for you.

Anxiously waiting for more replies / suggestions from others.

Bracken: Just a quick note, after a little play time with DVD profiller this weekend I got this up and looking pretty good in test mode. I will be uploading it to my remote tonight and I will let you know. So far I love the fact that I can add movies so much easier than my old way. Also I really LOVE the "before" and "after" idea for the macros, that way if I need to change something I only have to set it in one place not over every macro (like my set up required). So far VERY NICE!!!

Bracken, If you have a chance, send me a copy and hopefully I will use my Kenwood 400 disk over the Zenith.

This program is great. I initially had install issues but that was my own fault for not checking that I had DVD Profiler installed. Bracken solved this quicker than most if not all commercial software companies I have dealt with in the past. Very simple to use and looks great on the MX-3000. Just about to get a Sony DVP-CX777ES so haven't tested the inegration yet, but it allows me to have my 300+ DVD catalogue on the remote which is a great start.

Well done and look forward to future versions.

Bracken,

Just to let you know I didn't get the email. I'll check again later.

With much anticipation.
