Good morning. I'm sellin my MX-500 as I've upgraded to a new remote. Already have a buyer. What is the easiest way to reset the MX-500 to the factory default settings and get rid of all my custom macros, devices, etc.?

Thanks.

There is no easy way. There is no FACTORY RESET button.

The only way to get the remote back to factory settings is to manually relabel the DEVICEs on the MAIN screen and then apply the AUX 155 device to all of the devices. It actually has 2 IR codes, but is the closest to actually deleting all of the codes.

If I remember correctly, you still have to delete all of your learned codes and macros manually.

I haven't tried it on the MX-500, but on the MX-700 and MX-800 if you hold the Main and Stop buttons (WARNING will flash at the bottom of the display while you do this) for 10-14 seconds, it will bring you to a reset page where you can select ALL, PROG, or EXIT.

It's worth a try.

That doesn't work on the MX-500 or MX-600. Sorry.

Do you have access to a new MX500? If so, can't you just clone the factory settings across to yours?

With IRCLONE can't you just download empty remote?

Well this works on my MX600, Maybe you made the same mistake I made at first, I was holding the pause button instead of the stop button.

Did exactly what the other poster described after 14 seconds, gave me the options, warnings,... and it restored my second hand mx600 to factory.

Nice remote

You do not have mx-600, you found that number in the FCC sticker? What you actually have the mx-650 Omega, which does respond to reset command. Mx-600's don't.
