I just called and the mx-1000 has been pushed back to august. They didn't even try to say it may be done for july. They also said the printer hasn't made any information packets yet, but he was there this morning. This thing is going to be obsolete before it is even released. I just hope Daniel has great news about the color pronto soon so I can forget about this thing and move on. By the way I heard a rumor that Britney Spears is going to be htmr's new spokesperson. I can just see the commercial "oops I did it again, I lied to your face, the remote's not done."

FYI :
I just got an email from Mr. Gifford about the MX-1000
and he wrote : "The MX-1000 should become available towards the end of July, or in August".
We'll see.

Odds are we'll be getting this message soon:

"The MX-1000 should become available end of August, or in September".

Perhaps we'll hear, "Due to technical difficulties with the software, which our engineers have been unable to overcome, the MX-1000 has been put on permanant moratorium. However, the new MX-2000 will be available in December. Please refer to our web-site for further details. We are the definitive source of information."

Their website now says shipping in mid-August. Very disheartening news!

In all fairness, there are only like 10 of us who've been bitching lo these many months. You'd think they'd start e-mailing us personally even if they were fairly stupid business people. I'd set my estimate on October, 2000 (exactly 1 year after the promised release). Any takers?

I cant beleive you guys would even buy from a company like this. If they do business like this I would hate to see how their support would be.

Buy a PRONTO !

Kevin,

While I agree with you in principal, I need a joystick and hard VCR buttons for my Tivo. This is the only game in town for that.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm............ wondering how many of you are using a Microsoft OS......... me thinks that you waited at least this long for the version you are using!!! If the remote is going to be the one that serves you the best, wait for it. You'll be using it for a long, long time.

Just a thought!........ -Greg

Sorry Greg, but I don't like the comparison.

My PC has always had an operating system, when a newer one came available I decided to upgrade or not, but I still had a PC.

The mx-1000 is the PC, the os is what they say is holding things up.

Give me the hardware and I'll do software upgrades when needed.

Just my view.

You know, I don't think the wait would be so bad if we only knew what was happening. I'm the kind of person that prefers too much information. As a professional software beta tester, I like to know what goes on. Especially bugs and quirks I personally find -- they must be nurtured through the right channels so they're actually fixed or changed before the product's released (not as easy as it sounds these days).

On www.1cache.com they list the MX-1000 as available for $239.99 on sale... Don't know how accurate that is .
