Any way to copy or move a button command from one device to another?

Not that I'm aware of. You can drag & drop commands WITHIN a device, but I don't think that you can copy one command from one device to another device.

However, if you had another learning remote, you could first learn it to that remote and then learn it back to your first remote in the device that you wished to have it in.

I presume that you have either a MX500 or a MX700/800 remote. Correct?

IR-Clone and the MX-Editor allows this (with the MX-500). You just copy and paste from one device to another.

It's the B&K SR 10.1, which I believe is the MX700.

I have the editor but can't figure out how to copy and paste. What is IR-Clone? I'm new to this!

Right-click on a button in the editor and you'll see a copy/paste menu.

IRCLONE is a USB hardware device which allows your PC to communicate with an MX-500 or MX-600 remote.

My understanding is that you can either drag & drop or copy and paste from button in a device to another button in the same device. However, using the MXeditor, I don't see how you can copy and paste between devices. Am I wrong? I'm not familiar with IR-CLONE so I can't comment on that.

I've copied and pasted buttons between devices many times. I just did it this afternoon and I just did it again right now to be sure I wasn't imagining it - I wasn't :)

I have an MX-700 and the MX-Editor Version 1.11.192 software.

When I right-click on a device in "Treeview" I get a
copy/paste dialog, but I never get any dialog whatsoever
by right-clicking a button in "Simulator".

Copy/Paste in treeview lets me copy all the pages in one
device to another device. I don't see any real value
in that. But I would like to be able to copy/paste
specific buttons, but I just don't see any way to do it.

What am I doing wrong?

OK, OK.

I stumbled on to the "LCD Button Editor" in the MX-Editor software.
Now I see how to move (but not copy) a button within a device.

I still don't see any way to copy a button, or to move/copy
between devices.

You can't. What you can do is create a short-cut from one button in one device to a button in another device. At least that's my understanding of the MX700.

I don't know about the MX500 since I've never owned one. There might be a way to do it in the MX500, but I'm pretty sure that it cannot be done in the MX700.

The MX-700 software and the MX-500 software have some differences. The MX-500 software allows you to move and copy buttons with their labels between devices. Sounds like maybe the MX-700 software doesn't.

I use Ctrl C and Ctrl V which allows me to copy learned commands from one device to another.

Ok, thanks for the reply, Sbasile.

At least now I can stop beating my head against the wall
trying to figure out how to do the impossible!

MXEditor allows you to use what they call a Shortcut. Here's what I did to essentially "copy" one key to another location...

I opened the Treeview for my DVD device. I added a new button called TEST to page 4 of the DVD using the LCD Button Editor and save it. Next I click on Page 4 in the Treeview and I see the new TEST button. I click on TEST. Now, in the EDIT AND LABEL BUTTONS window I use the pull down to choose the DEVICE I want to copy from and then I select the IR CODE. The TEST button now has a yellow box with a black arrow in it, which signifies that it's a Shortcut to another device IR code.
