I have a problem that I can't seem to solve. I really need a "Power" on/off button for my Microsoft XBox. I have the Home Theater Master MX-500 (and absolutely love it). Unfortunately, the DVD remote for the XBox does not have a power button and I'm wondering if it's possible to program one in. I also can't find any third party remotes with a power button. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

I'm encountering the same problem. If Microsoft itself doesn't include 'Power' & 'Open/Close' buttons on its friggin' remote, how do we teach the MX500? Doesn't look like we can, unless we try cyclying through all codes to see if one powers on the xbox.

There is no remote ir off/on circuitry on the XBox (even with the XBox DVD adapter). You must use the physical power button on the XBox itself.

The PS2 behaves the same way.

If you use a receiver, you may have a plug on the back of it. You could plug the XBOX into that, and that way when your Recevier turns on or off, so will your XBOX.

You could also plug it into an X10 appliance module. However, I wouldn't "pull the plug" on your xbox since it's escentially a PC, and you wouldn't want to do that to your PC.
