I have a revised home page with customized buttons for the mx1000:

[Link: geocities.com]

Email me your own collection of custom buttons if you want to make them available to everyone and I will add them to the site.

I just got my MX-1000 and so far so good. At first pass it was overwhelming but the second pass was better and I am now able to upload and download. I am glad I have a programming degree. What do normal people do?

I have downloaded and used your buttons (nice) Do you know, or does anyone know where I can get more samples. There is lots of talk about other buttons (including the ones used in the review) but I can't seem to find them. Any suggestions?

If anyone else has customized buttons, I can add them to my site. Just email them to me.

Mike Chapman has provided me with several spectacular buttons that I have added to the site. They are based on the buttons from the review and look great. Check them out.

Thanks Phil and Mike -

Those buttons are really nice. As a suggestion to people using them, you might want to use the blank buttons and create the text in MXOP. That way you won't exceed the memory limitations on custom buttons.

I can't get the Converter utility to install on my Win2K machine - would someone who has converted these buttons be willing to e-mail them to me at [email protected]? Thanks, Carl.

I just got my MX-1000 two weeks ago. I love the hard buttons and transport on the remote, but the touchscreen display contrast is rather low.

I downloaded the buttons from geocities.com and was able to use them in the MXOP. My question concerns writing white text on black buttons. Can this be done in MXOP or does each button with different text have to be created as a graphic and imported? With a limit of 31 buttons, that doesn’t allow customized buttons to be used on very many devices. Please tell me if there is a work-around.

Text is automatically inverted.

Thanks for your quick response Daniel. I must be doing something wrong because after selecting the bmed button and placing it in a blank space on a page, I could not type any text on the button. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

You have to right-click on the button and select the "Text" option.

By the way folks, I've set up a MX-1000 file area here on Remote Central -- but I need your content!

Yes, Alan. As mentioned in another thread, you can use the same button over and over again, and just change the text, thereby saving space.

...Greg :-)
