I did all the programming of my remote using the computer. I then downloaded it to the remote and started to learn the IR codes. I ran into some problems with some buttons learning other commands and such. I fixed this by deleting and recreating the buttons directly on the remote. Everything is working great now!!

However, I want to make some additional changes so I tried to upload the operating program to the computer. It uploaded successfully. I was then going to start my editing, but on every screen the program comes up with "INVALID FONT" and some of the words are not showing up. This happens on almost every page. Anybody know how to fix this??? I really don't want to redo all the wording on every page.

I also tried to upload the learned functions to the computer, but it just won't work!!. Has this worked for anybody?

I had this same problem. After doing all the designing on the computer I downloaded to the remote. No problems. So I then uploaded to the computer and when I opened the pages I would get an INVALID FONT error on some of the pages. I found that when the error popped up that the button that was being displayed had two lines of text on it and only the first line was displayed. So I went back to my first file that I had created and deleted the second line of text. I then downloaded to the remote. No problems. I then uploaded to the computer. No INVALID ERROR on that page. I did find the error on one other page and that was cause by the same thing. Two lines of text on a button. When I removed the second line of text everything worked fine. I have found that I cannot even re-add the second line of text to the buttons. As soon as I do I get the error again. So I just settled with a shorter description on those buttons. The weird part is that I still have some buttons with two lines of text on them and they don't create the problem. I have looked at the file with MS Access and do not see anything different between the buttons that display ok and the ones that don't. And I didn't have any problems with the file when it was downloaded to the remote. Everything looked fine and worked right on the remote. The problem occured after the file was uploaded from the remote to the computer. I would check to see if you get the error when a button with two lines of text is being displayed.

OK, thats really wierd. My main page has 9 buttons with 2 lines of words. The first 6 buttons with 2 lines of words show up fine, but the 7th is only displaying the first word. So I imagine it is having problems with that 7th button. I use 2 lines all over the place so it isn't really an option for me to go to 1 line. There has got to be a fix for this.

Universal Remote, any suggestions????

Cam, Did you try deleting the second line on just that button ? It might be a temp fix until they fix the software. I have about 20 buttons with two lines of text and only had the problem on two of them. I have buttons before and after these two buttons and they work fine. So you might only have to change the one button.

This software seems to be completely screwed up. There is no 2nd line of text to delete. The 7th button only shows the 1st line of text, thats it. I tried deleting the 1st line but that didn't work. I tried deleting all the words on buttons that had 2 lines, and that didn't work either.

I then went to the individual pages for each device. The first 4 devices were fine, but the 5th device page showed "invalid font" before displaying the 1st page. One of the buttons only had the 1st line, so I deleted the entire button. It fixed that page. I then went on to do the same thing in other problem pages. I tried to delete a button on the 6th device page, but got "Run-time error '9': Subscript out of range" and the entire problem closed. I tried it over and over and the program continued to display this error and would close itself. I therefore cannot edit the pages in order to remove the "invalid font" error. What do I try next???????

Cam,

The second line of text does not show up but is what is causing the problem. I had to go back to my origional file and make the changes. The file I started out with before I downloaded it to the remote. (Before I downloaded to the remote I saved to file under another name so I would have a backup. That way when I uploaded from the remote I still had a copy of my origional file that I could edit if anything went wrong. You learn quick with this software to save you files often and under different names.) If you have your origional file try deleting the second line there and then re-downloading it.

I had these same "invalid font" errors after installing the latest release of the p/c software. It seemed to have corrupted some of my text for certain buttons. I used MS-Access to fix my problems. In the BUTTONTEXTTB table I went through and identified the text id that had some wierd values/characters and re-keyed these in the database. This fixed almost all of my device pages that I was having the "invalid font" messages. However there was one page that it was still giving this error. It also appears that on some cases the new software changed they x and y coordinates of where the text should be located. I used an old saved version of my .mdl file and saw on this page that the x and y coordinates were changed for the first button text that wont display after you get the "invalid font" message. It appears that this caused the text message to not be able to fit within these new coordinates. I tweaked these numbers using my old files and amazingly, no more "invalid font" messages. They definitely need to look at why their new software would cause this to happen.
