The batteries that came with my MX-100 lasted a total of 14days........that doesn't exactly seem stellar....Did I just get a *bum* set of batteries, or is this indicative of actual battery life? If so, then would buying recharable batteries lenghten battery life?

IeraseU:

Battery life is obviously dependant on total use, length of backlight on, etc., as I'm sure you know. I haven't had my MX-1000 long enough to see what initial battery life will be, but I know that use RayOVac rechargeable alkalines in any of my other remotes has actually increased the length of battery life and they are rechargeable up to 25 times. The battery meter on any of these devices (Palm Pilots, etc.) cannot accurately measure a rechargeable NiCad battery, while a rechargeable Alkaline it can.

Also, your battery usage will be greater in the initial stages while you are setting up your remote.

Hope this helps.

Greg :-)

Mine are still working fine after about a month. The batteries that come with the unit are obvoiusly not the best though, so I'm not surprised that some have failed.

My MX1000 remote actually came with Duracell Ultra batteries which I was suprised to see. Most remotes come with cheapo batteries that probably wouldn't last more than two weeks.

Phil - You're right, mine came with Ultras too. I confused the MX-1000 with a cheaper remote I got recently for another room. My apologies to HTM.
