I just ordered my Mx1000 and cant wait for it to arrive so i have been doing some research. Can you go and get bmp file from say a pronto and use those buttons or images in the mx1000?...or modify those images to work?

Shawn: Yes, .bmp files can be used in the MX-1000. They just have to be converted to the .btn format for use in the remote.

Go here to find the program you need to do this:

One problem is that DPI values on the MX-1000 are not symmetrical. Which means that something which displays as a circle on the Pronto will show up as an oval on the MX-1000. Also note that the Pronto is much higher resolution, so things will probably be too big.
