Has anyone found a place that has the Mx-500 listed to pre-order it, preferably at a discounted price?

I doubt that you'll see a discounted price listed until it actually is released. Until then, both the list price and the dealer price is subject to change.

Randy:Of what help is that comment? Why always so negative? The remote is a great remote, even as it stands.
Mike: I'll keep an eye out for that. Etronixs.com is usually one of the first to post pics and prices. They seem to have a great rapporte with Universal Remote Controls i.e. Home Theater Master.

I was wondering what the point of preordering something is? When HTM remotes come out, they are available at many places at low prices. Preordering this early is like putting a deposit on the 2004 Chevy Cavalier - you won't get it any earlier, you may pay more than everyone else, and you may end up finding it cheaper later and have a hard time (or at least confusion) with the original preorder.

Fair enough, when you are making the assumption that the MX-500 will be available in bulk right from the start. And that certainly does not have to be a given.
