Is the display supposed to be on 24/7?
If so, is there a way to shut it off?
Thanks in advance,
Wayne

I just found out it stays on forever.
Sorry to take up the space!
Should have read the review here b4 I posted.
Anyway, I love this remote.
Simple to use, simpler to program, and controls my entire HT. In fact, I've become quite adept at it, so if anyone has any Q's about it, feel free to drop me an email.
Thanks for listening.

It seems pretty power efficient. My SL-9000 lasts forever on a set of batteries. :-)

...but how do you control DVD with SL-9000? I mean there are no seperate menu and transport buttons.

You simply stick the menu keys on some other buttons, like the small round ones on the bottom, in a pattern you can remember. If you use the same keys for menu navigation on all your devices it's not that bad. It's an admitted drawback of this remote, but other inexpensive remotes have other drawbacks, like not enough memory or not enough keys, that the SL9000 doesn't have. You just have to pick what you hate least until some manufacturer wises up and makes a remote that addresses all these issues.

I simply set up the Menu and transport buttons under the AUX setting, therefore, the directional buttons handle play, pause, forward and reverse under "DVD" and menu/transport under "AUX."
