My sattelite box does not have a built in sleep function. Does the SL-9000 have one which will turn it off automatically after 15 minutes or so?

I don't believe SL-9000 have the time function. Might as well try this function on the Pronto, a little heft on the buget, it will make your life lot more easier.
Another option, use the power source from your receiver...set the sleep timer on wheneveryou intend to use this function.
