I just got this remote and I thought that I was doing well getting around most of the flaws (bugs) with the MXOS. I was also able to upload both programs the very first time with no problems. But now I've come to a significant roadblock. I can't download the Operating Program (OP) to the MX-1000. I have no problems downloading the Learned Program, but downloading the OP gives me a "Runtime error '6': Overflow" right away (before even asking for a filename) and crashes.

Does anyone have a workaround/fix for this?

I really don't want to build the screen layout using the MX-1000's limited input controls (i.e. joystick and a few buttons).

How many custom buttons did you use? Try deleting a few from the registry, then trying download again (just to check). You could backup the button.ini file if you want to quickly revert back.

Thanx Daniel. That got me past that roadblock. How lame is that?
DO you know what the maximum number of allowed custom buttons in the Registry is? I don't recall reading that in the manual!
With 10 system buttons that you can't remove from the registry, the MXOS allows you to add an aditional 21 buttons, before giving you a memory full message. Yet that appears to be too much to enable a download? So the real limit is a total less than 31. I'll try removing buttons one-at-a-time to find that magic number that allows the download.

Thanx again for your help :)

I'm now able to download with 31 button in the registry. Go figure. It must have been in some weird state that removing buttons from the registry cleared up.
Does anyone know when a new MXOS will be released?

It seems to be "updated" on a regular basis, but they never announce when or what has been fixed.

The last update was November 8. If you downloaded your MXOP before then, you might want to reinstall it.
