I just bought a SL-9000, and the first unit I had seemed defective, so I returned it for a second unit, and the same thing is happening, so either I'm a shmuck or I have really bad luck. Everything works except when I try programming one of the 4 memory buttons. The instructions say to push SAT or AUD and mute together, then push the memory button, then push all the buttons to program, then channel up to save. I do this, it looks to be saving it, but the memory button does nothing. Worse yet, it unprograms all the 4 corresponding function buttons (in my case, I chose SAT, so SAT, TV, VCR, and CBL all became unprogrammed), and I cannot re-program them. Whey I try re-programming, it appears to work (the unit turns off when I choose the correct manufacturer's code), but then it doesn't work after that. Instead, the SL-9000 blinks 5 or 6 times, which tells me that it isn't programmed in that mode. Do the memory buttons just not work, and URC isn't telling us? Am I doing something wrong? I'm going right by the manual. What can I do to get my SAT/VCR... buttons working again, even if I can't use the memory buttons. HHEEELLLLPPPPP!!!!
