I just received my MX1000 and am setting up pages, etc on my computer. Can anyone help with these questions?

1. How can buttons you do not need be removed from the main page?
2. How can pages you do not need be removed from main page buttons?
3. Can someone explain "registering" buttons? What buttons must be registered? Why? What, in general, is registering all about?

Thanks in advance for the use of your knowledge.

1. Buttons cannot be removed from main page, only cannot be re-sized and relabled. You can hide them behind another button though, by re-sizing them to a
dot or line.
2. Pages cannot be removed. You can delete buttons on the pages to make the pages blank, but the pages will remain.
3. Registering buttons generally means to add a button that you have custom-designed as opposed to the buttons already in the software.

1. Should have said CAN be re-sized and relabled.
Most of your answers can be read on these boards.

OK, i answer my own question on how to get the dot or the line. Just create one. Not a problem and it looks to be working great till I try to download it to the remote. I get a Run Time Error 6. I read some where else in the post that this was resolved with a reinstall of the software. SO I did just that and was able to get it to program, but it didn't save the setting as a DOT it kept it as a nromal button. It did however keep the location that i had moved it to. So i went back in and changed the button back to the DOT and tried again. Same thing Run Time Error. I played with this and no matter what i do so long as i reinstall i can download but as soon as I make a button and register it i get the error. ANY CLUES or has anyone seen this yet? I got the remote last night and had plans on getttttim g most of it programmed tonight. I very upset with the software package and if I wanted to do everything just useing the remote then i would have stay with my RS remote. I have waited a long time like i am sure the rest of us have for this thing and I am not willing to give up so soon. OK thanks for the ears i have vented enough. Can we any help out? Thanks again for a great site Daniel

There is a minimum button size that can be made and that the program will allow (what exactly that is nobody seems to know). Some people here have made buttons with just a few pixels in the corners that don't show up on the touchscreen. Search the other threads on this forum for more info.

Also, if you don't want to see the MAIN page layout, send the buttons you want to MAIN1, where you can modify them freely, then you MAIN1 as your main screen.

As I think I mentioned before, it seems the MX-1000 "masks out" the colors in four corners as a transparent background. If you make those few pixels in the middle, it should be OK. Perhaps 5x5 with *some* actual content should work?
