Do you have to program all the components before you use the software? What I am trying to say is, say that i want to change the pages for the TV. Do I program the remote before i start to arrange the buttons or do i arrange the buttons then program and if so will they still go in to the correct places. IE will the Volume up go to the volume up and so on?

Personally, mainly because I downloaded the software before I got the remote, I set up all my devices, custom buttons and pages first. I then downloaded them to the remote, set up the individual components, then just learned all the buttons so I could have them set up the way I want. Finally, I created macros on the buttons I'd set up for them. I've also made minor changes right on the remote. Until the software is more stable, this is the safest way to go in my opinion.

Mroll's suggestion is valid, but basically you have the option of programming your MX-1000 any which way. You can re-write the text on buttons via remote control (sans pc), then learn the changes from your original remote control. Once that's complete, you can upload your changes to the pc in order to archive/save the information.

Or you can re-write the text on buttons via pc (sans remote), then download the information into the remote control, then learn the changes from your original remote.

That's exactly what I did. Then I did some fine tuning right on the remote after using it for a while. It works great
