Hi all -

Just got the MX-1000 yesterday, and so far: disappointment. The MX Operating Program is so incredibly unstable that it's next to useless for anything other than basic editing. It seems as if error trapping was not on the programmer's priority list, which I abhor.

I've made some buttons, larger (but not drastically so), nice ones, and everythime I go to download them to the remote, I get a "Run time error '6': Overflow". That's if I put just *one* of these things on the remote.

Daniel, have you had any problems with those nifty buttons you made? If possible, could you share your setup so I may compare (plus I really dig the look and feel you've developed for the remote).

Anybody else noticed any issues between the MXOP and Photoshop 6? I can't run them simultaneously, which is sorta a drag.

And one last one: has anybody had problems with the responsiveness of the remote? I often have to key in things twice to get them to register with my Sony XBR TV. Frustrating, to say the least.

I'm giving 'em until Tuesday before I take advantage of the 30 day money-back guarantee. Then it's off to Pronto-land. To be fair, that's probably not enough time to work out the issues, but I'm tired of waiting for the remote to come together. The MX-1000 was promising, but I seem to be beset by problems due to the rushing of the software. Ah, well.

Thanks,

charlie

About the only errors I had was with "Subscript Out Of Range", which appeared a couple times an hour on a seemingly random basis. A few reproducables as well. No, I didn't have any problem with my buttons... are you using the latest converter? I'm still doing some testing with my Sony TV, but so far I don't recall your problem there. I'll take a look...

I got it a few days ago, and was fairly happy with it, but I am having the same Run Time Error '6' problem that you are - I can't seem to upload or download ANYTHING without it crashing. This is happening even with the default.mdl with nothing changed... Seeing as this is version 1 I was expecting errors, but I was also expecting to be able to download something! Any suggestions?

Ok, new problem - I got rid of the Error '6' problem by re-downloading and reinstalling the operating program from HTM website. Now the interface for downloading comes up and the software seems to be thinking that it's downloading but the remote doesn't have any movement in the progress bar and at the end the software says there's an error and to check the cable...

I find the best way to download to the remote is start the Download command on the PC (it takes quite a while to process the file), then activate "download" on the remote, then active "download" on the PC.

I did update the software, which seemed to reduce some of the problems (and increased stability under Win2k, thank goodness), but I still get subscript out of range errors fairly regluarly. It seems related to of/size of buttons, which leads me to think that getting a healthy number of buttons on the MX-1000 might be tricky, if not impossible.

We'll see what HTM says...

Thanks,

charlie
