I'm considering the MX-1000 to control my components. While reading the MX-1000 review, I noticed mention of the ability, or in this case, the inability to recognize some manufacturers frequencies. Specifically the KENWOOD reference. I own the KR-x1000 reciever with the RC-R0901 remote. Does anyone know if the MX-1000 is compatable?

Yes, the MX-1000 is compatible with the Kenwood KRX-1000 receiver. I have both components and they work just fine.
However, I don't remember if I was able to use the code set included with the MX-1000 to control the receiver, or if I had to teach the remote commands directly from my Kenwood remote.

Thank you for the info! I now con proceed with my MX-1000 purchase.
