Hello,

Since I could not find a program file for the BDP7501 to use with my MX-850 remotes, used the learn function to grab all the keys from the original remote. However for some reason the learned pause button is sending a stop command to the device. The original remote pause works fine, and the learn command seems to process o.k., since it returns a "good' after learning the command. Any ideas on what might be going on, or how I might get around this issue....The pause is probably one of the most used functions when watching movies; and not being able to use it is problematic.

Thanks,

Doing research on the RCC forums about Phillips RC-6 IR discrete codes & how to convert them into hex values with MakeHex.exe and a .ccf file using ProntoEdit4 that can be added to MX-850 devices using the Universal Browser, was able to get a working learned pause button using the Phillips published BDP series RC-6 discrete code for pause. Now I can finally put the non backlit BDP7501 remote in the desk drawer that holds my large collection of device remotes the MX-850(s) control.

Could not have done it without the great summary posts on:

How to use MakeHex.exe for RC6 posted by the apps developer johnsfine: [Link: remotecentral.com]

If anyone is interested, this is the Hex String that MakeHex created from the Phillips Discrete code that gave a working pause button:
