Hello, my the RF function stopped working on my MX-850. I heard rattling around inside the remote casing and when I opened it up I discovered the RF antenna was broken off the main circuit board. Does anyone know if that can be re-soldered and if so, does anyone know who in the local Boston, MA can do that type of work? Thanks!

Do you mean the antenna attached to the circuit board that is in the bottom part of the shell? If so, I may have a spare.

There have been few different RF circuitry setups in mx-850 over the years, yes some were wired to second pc board attached to shell. Others had RF circuitry plugged into main board directly. And then like the OP, some were soldered to main board. Where it attaches kind of looks like an eight legged spider:

Your thinking of one like this:

Yes, so it would be useless in the op case since his needs to be soldered, not just plugged in.

Yes I see that now. Just thought I would make the offer. It seems the OP has moved on anyway.
