Hi,

When the MX-850 either learned a repeat key (such as Volume Up), or was programmed with the hex editor with an RC5 sequence like:

0000 006f 0000 000C 001f 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0040 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0040 0040 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0CC8

where the "0000 000C" indicates that a Burst Pair Sequence 2 is following, pressing once on the key sends in fact 2 pulses.

Most devices ignore the second pulse because it's too close from the first, but I'm trying a new HT processor that does not, and that prevents single stepping when a key is programmed as a repeat one.

There is a whole thread on the JP1 remote forum where this was found out:

The guys there have been incredibly helpful, but they don't have the specific MX-850 knowledge to help with this final issue.

Does anybody here have an idea how to prevent the MX-850 to send 2 pulses with a repeat key? It would have to be done with the HEX editor, the MX is unable to learn from the manufacturer remote.

Some additional background, Robert has an old Goldmund SR8 audio processor and a more recent Goldmund 16.5 processor. Both use RC5, device code 24. The 16.5 is being more fussy about what signals it responds to, whereas the SR8 is more flexible.

We can program "non repeating" signals that work fine, but if we try to program "repeating" signals, while they work when repeating, they don't work properly (ie, a single press results in 2 sends from the MX-850).
