I just replaced the hard drive on my windows xp machine which I have always used to program the remote when I purchased new equipment. Fortunately, I found the mx editor software which I could not get from URC for whatever reason. I reinstalled the software along with activesync 3.7 but I can't get the remote to connect. I have tried everything from changing usb drivers to updating to activesync 4.5 but I can't seem to get the partnership created. For some reason I remember a tech at URC helped me solve this same problem several years ago but I can't remember what we did. I'm not sure whether I changed something in the windows registry but I got it working. Does anyone have any suggestions.

I had this problem when I fist used the MX3000. The solution was that when you attach the MX3000 via usb, and windows detects a new device, rather then taking any default, point it to the USB driver in the MX3000 folder.

I've tried that but still no go. I am not sure what I did before, but it was working on this very same computer. I just replaced the hard drive, fortunately I had a copy of the software because as you know URC are being dicks about giving you the software you already paid for. My main computer is a new windows 8.1 desktop so I am only using the xp machine solely for programming the remote so I have got to get this thing going, it's pissing me off so bad you have no idea. My only other recourse is to try to get the editor software to run on windows 7 or 8 It's almost impossible to get the MX-3000 editor to run on the newer windows without a update to the software which is why I want to get it going on the xp machine.
