I had to replace my Onkyo receiver with a Yamaha and am trying to reprogram our MX-880 for the new receiver.

The software seems fairly straight forward and I have been able to get the new programming to work through the Test through USB function.

The test works perfectly, turning the receiver on and off and switching to the correct input, however, after I save and Send to Remote, the remote does not control the receiver.

The other, previously programmed functions work perfectly.

Any ideas what am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

My guess is that the remote is set to RF only and you do not have an emitter placed in the correct location. The remote tests via IR only, so if the codes are the correct codes, it will work while testing. Once you download and test from the remote, if what I suggest is true, nothing will happen.
