Hi,

I´m thinking about buying an URC-R40 as my first advanced remote control, but I´m a bit concerned.

I have a Denon AVR-X4000 receiver, whose original remote doesn´t have several desirable functions.

So how would I input the discrete codes, provided I can find them, into the R40 ? Is it even possible ?

Assuming it´s possible to input discrete codes into the R40, how would I find those codes ?

Thanks in advance,

Helton

No, it is not possible to load discrete commands into the r40, sorry. You need to go with pro model, one that is computer programmable.

Thanks Edmund,

So, I´m out of luck or it´s possible that the Denon´s modern receivers discrete codes it´s already on the R40 database ?

Any suggeestion of a URC pro model ?

If you like the looks of the r40, then there is the mx-780 remote. But none of the URC computer programmable remotes come with Software, they leave it up to professional installer to program the remote, or if the installer feels like it, give you the software. This is on remote box:

This complicates things a bit, as I´m located in Brazil and URC products are not sold over here, it´s unlikely that I will find an installer, so I´ll need the software.
