I just installed a DLA6 to my system and it works great. I'm trying to control it with the MRF-260 and an MX-450. I read some other posts that said you have to snip an IR emitter and hook it up the DLA6's Room 1 IR inputs (IR / G) --- I did that and then learned the codes from the remote that came with the DLA6. When I click the codes I learned on the MX-450 nothing happens on the DLA6. Any suggestions?

Does the Reception LED blink on the MRF-260 when you press the buttons on the MX-450 remote? Did you test that the learned codes work properly when sent directly as IR signals from the MX-450?

Did you wire the emitter with correct polarity? If you have emitters with a white stripe the strip is +ve / Signal. If you are using URC emitters, the silver-stranded wire is +ve.

Peter, thank you for the quick reply. The DLA6 does not have an IR receiver, you have to hook one up manually. The MX-450 works vai the MRF-260 for everything else. When I click the commands all the other LEDs blink as they should. The emitter I cut was one that came with the MRF-260. It has a white stripe on one cord which is also the copper colored wire vs the bronze colored wire. I put the copper wire in the IR slot and the silver in the G slot. There is also an S slot and a a V slot. I tried different combos but couldn't get it to work. Do I need the S or V slots?

You did not answer a very important question that PeterN asked. Does the MX450 work on IR when you point it directly at the DLA6? He also asked if the MRF260 blinks when you press a button, not the emitters. There is no emitter to flash when using this method.

The DLA6 doesn't have an IR receiver so no, it doesn't work. It's not designed to work any other way then with an RF hook up (separate equipement) or by connecting an IR device directly to the unit. Yes, MRF 260 does blink when I hit the buttons.

I have never used the remote to learn codes, as Aton publishes the hex codes on their site, which for some reason I cannot access now. I have only used PC programmable remotes with the DLA pieces as the programming is too cumbersome for the MX-450 IMHO.

Do you have access to a PC programmable remote for testing purposes?

I don't, the only thing I have is the MX-450.

If you learned codes from the remote THAT CAME WITH THE DLA6 then the Aton either has a front-panel IR receiver or the included remote is an RF remote.

The DLA6 remote is RF so you won't be able to learn it.
If you think it’s expensive to hire a professional, wait until you hire an amateur.

I believe that you could purchase the DLA units with either a IR or RF remote, but to utilize IR, you have to purchase a optional IR Eye that plugs in the back. I wanted to confirm on Aton's website, but I cannot seem to access it. Not sure what is going on with them.
