Just received the R50 from Amazon and tried to get it to control my new HK stereo but none of the codes in it work. So then I tried to make it learn and the buttons are all messed up. The on off does not work right. When I press on with it off nothing happens, I press off and it turns on but does not turn off with the on button(I think I said that right, whew). The volume up turns it down and the volume up does nothing. I programmed a few more some don't work what they are supposed to. Has anyone had a similar problem and is there some wierd kinda remote control system on the HK?

First post, so hello all.

Ok, figured it out, so FYI for all and it's learning mode after repeated attempts. On the HK remote when making it learn a button don't keep the HK button pressed for a long time even if the R50 does not show it is taking the code. There is a delay before it shows that it is taking the code. One quick press and let it go. Except for the volume, hold it down until the R50 shows that it is "good" and taking the signal that way when u press the volume it will continue to travel up or down on the receiver while holding down the volume buttons on the R50. I have had learning remotes before including the R7 where it was not as finicky. Now it's working great so hope this helps others that may have a similar problem.

I would have been nice for URC to have this nfo as a FAQ on their site.
