I have the MX-500 trying to get discrete IR codes and or a way to program TV remote to send individual IR commands for individual componets, HDMI1,HDM2 ect... I read through some of the threads in some of the older version you could hold down power button while entering 090 this would allow you to then hit device/input and then a 1 or 2 ectt.. and that would send or IR command to switch to a particular input.

The old way doesn't seem to work with the new WD-60737. The only way the TV can switch between inputs is you have to push activity button then cycle through menu. I just want to setup macro to switch input on TV and AVR with pushing one button. Wife can't seem to handle anything more complex ;)

The problem with trying to cylce through menu with a macro is depending on which input have selected when you push the activity button it starts from there. was trying to avoid different combination of macros to handle this.

Anyone been able to get this to work?

I am sure there are codes for the inputs for the tv but you would need to learn them from another remote. If you had a remote that was able to get them I don't think you would have asked. Your best bet is to see if your local shop may have a remote that you can learn them from but you would be better getting a new remote.

The 090 code reference was for pre 2006 models.

Try this:
For 2006 and after Mits TV's.

Applicable Remote Controls and Televisions
This document applies to the full size television remote controls introduced in 2006. The inputs specified below apply to the TVs that included these remotes. If a model does not have the specified input, or there is no connection to the specified input, the TV will not respond to the direct access signal.

Procedure to program the remote for special direct access functions:

Set the Device Select Switch at the top to the TV position.

Press and hold the POWER key until it flashes twice, then release the POWER key.

Enter in sequence the code number 0,0,0,9,0. The POWER key will flash twice after the first 0 and then flash twice again after the final 0 to confirm a successful code entry.

The following keys will change functions:
POWER - Power ON only.
STOP - Power OFF only.
PAUSE - AV RESET (resets audio and video adjustments).

INPUT followed by 1 - INPUT-1
INPUT followed by 2 - INPUT-2
INPUT followed by 3 - INPUT-3
INPUT followed by 4 - HDMI 2
INPUT followed by 5 - COMPONENT-1
INPUT followed by 6 - COMPONENT-2
INPUT followed by 7 - COMPONENT-3
INPUT followed by 8 - ANT 2
INPUT followed by 9 - ANT 1
INPUT followed by F1 - HDMI 1
INPUT followed by F2 - HDMI 2
INPUT followed by F3 - HDMI 3
INPUT followed by F4 - HDMI 4

FORMAT followed by 1 - STANDARD screen format
FORMAT followed by 2 - EXPAND screen format
FORMAT followed by 3 - ZOOM screen format
FORMAT followed by 4 - STRETCH screen format
FORMAT followed by 5 - STRETCH PLUS screen format
FORMAT followed by 6 - NARROW screen format
FORMAT followed by 7 - WIDE EXPAND screen format

IMPORTANT: When using this remote control as an original source remote control to program a "learning" remote control or Home Automation control system, the INPUT and FORMAT keys do not send signals. These buttons are simply used as a "switch" function to prepare the remote control to send the correct input or format signal when the number key or other specified key is pressed.

IMPORTANT: This remote control was included with TVs that had Auto Input Sensing. Direct access to inputs that have not been connected and added to the active input list is not possible.

Procedure to return the remote control to normal consumer functions:

Set the Device Select Switch at the top to the TV position.

Press and hold the POWER key until it flashes twice, then release the POWER key.

Enter in sequence the code number 0,0,9,3,5. The POWER key will flash twice after the first 0 and then flash twice again after the final 5 to confirm a successful code entry.

Thanks I will give it a try. I don't think I have the F1, F2 F3 keys on remote I don't have it in front but will check. I spoke to an installer at the Big Screen Store that I purchased. He mentioned they were having issues with this a well. He said they would use and older remote. I still have my remote for the WD-52725, it is the old slider remote for netcommand. Anyway I tried the holding power 090 and it is partially working. I was able to hit device key and 1 and that selected component 1 which is my DVD. There was a key that was HDMI1 but HDMI4. Strange haven't found HDMI2 and 3. I currently have Apple TV connected to HDMI2 and nothing connected to HDMI4 which is on the side. I figure the older models maybe only supportted two HDMI's

I will try procedure above with new remote and see what happens.

The installer did mention that they will just use the Harmony Remote and they seem to work. Trying to avoid shelling out another $100+

Thanks all
