I have looked through the manual cover to cover and on line but I can't find what caused this or if what it means. The LCD screen reads as folows:

top line reads TEST
the buttons:

LCD GOOD!
RAM EMPTY
IROUT GOOD
IRAMP GOOD
LIGHT SKIP

below the line but still on the screen there s a little figure that appears to run from side to side each time i press any button. I have tried changing the batteries but nothing changes.

I would be much appreciative of anyone's hep on this.

The only way to fix this is to send the remote into URC, sorry. I did it with mx-600.

You can't just mail it to an address and have them mail it back working. You can try to call them at the number on their website, but most likely where that is a professional remote and you are a consumer, they will be able to do little or nothing to help you. If they can help, It will most likely cost more than you are willing to pay

That is not PRO model, and they are the only ones that have to help. But you do need to call and get TAG # or REF # before you can ship.

http://universalremote.com/product_detail.php?model=55

It is, indeed, a URCPro model, from many many moons ago, and still in their inventory.

You can either contact a local authorized dealer to have it sent back (for replacement at a price, as they don't fix anything anymore), or you can try calling customer service and ask for a return authorization on your own.

Thanks Joe.. It's good to be reassured that I'm not going nuts once and awhile!
