I dropped this question in another thread, but thought I'd raise it again due to lack of responses. My MX-1000 will NOT contol my Panasonic Showstopper (30 Hour Replay TV unit) unless it's 2 inches from the IR sensor. Is anyone else having any success?

I use the MX1000 for a Replay branded unit (actually two units), the 2020 and 3030. I'd try relearning the buttons. Maybe you did something funny when learning them.

I have a replay from them and the remote works fine except for one thing. I tried to learn the chanel guide button and it wont work the remote says it learned it and then the signal doesn't work. I have learned all the other codes on the remote for the replay and they work fine. Any ideas? Thanks

I too had a problem with the channel guide button. Re-learned it time after time and it still did not work.
Finally deleted the button, uploaded to PC, added the button again, downloaded, relearned and it works now. Had to re-learn a few other buttons as well, as they seemed to stop working after I did the above. Overall, the remote is fairly crappy, but I'm not sure my expectations for a $230 unit weren't too high.
As far as Replay TV, what I'd really like to do is to use the joystick as "Quick Replay", "Pause", and "Quick Skip" when watching, but as navigation buttons when programming. Any trick to do it that anyone can think of?
